The secretary

I bought this dress on eBay about 2 years ago.  But somehow every-time I tried it on it was never quite 'right'.  The material is really heavy, almost like a tennis skirt.  And I loved wearing it round the house but for some reason I could never find the right occasion to wear it.  And so it sat in the wardrobe gathering dust, until now.  There wasn't any 'right' occasion, I guess I just grew into the dress - it feels 'me' somehow now.  Do you ever get that with clothes?  And on arriving in Wales I found it fitted in perfectly with the 1950s vibe of our cottage, bonza!

I don't think I mentioned on here that the Bot proposed with the temporary ring as he knew how much I wanted to chose 'the' ring.  Well this weekend we found 'the one'. Tres exciting! I'll be showcasing it on here very soon - it's currently being re-sized - but I can confirm that (surprise, surprise) it is vintage and I LOVE IT!

Hope you had lovely weekends xx

Avoid burnout...

A copy of Bloomberg BusinessWeek’s annual ‘How-To’ issue landed on my desk this week.  Packed full of interesting reads such as ‘How to motivate people?’, and ‘How to make the perfect 60-second pitch’.  But the one that really caught my eye; 'How to avoid burnout'. Take a read.

It's all about finding your rhythm, people.  xx

Hit the road, Jack

A few snaps from that weekend.  These photos were taken, oh, about five hours before the Bot proposed. Little did I know what was just around the corner!!  In fact all I was concerned about then was showing off this cas/panaz jumper c/o of Vila - super soft and comfy with some 80s colour blocking and a hint of shimmer.  Nice.

Right, i'm hitting the road again.  One day i'll be able to stop for just five minutes, but until then it's GO, GO, GO!  This weekend it's a hen do in Manchester and a trip to the Grand National - finally managed to pick up an outfit at the final hour yesterday - now to win some big bucks!

Have a lovely weekend all xx

He liked it so he went and put a ring on it...

I am over the moon to announce that last weekend on our getaway to Wales the Bot asked me to marry him, and I said yes!

Our friend mocked up this picture of how the big day might look - something to aim for me thinks (although i'm slightly worried that this is better than we might actually look, ha ha!).
