Escape to the country

The Bot and I are heading out of the city again this weekend.  But this time we're heading to a gorgeous little mill conversion in Stumble Head, Wales.  Converted by Griff Rhys Jones and nestled in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.  I can't wait.

We've both been non-stop since the start of the year so i'm looking forward to four totally chillaxed days filled with long walks, scrummy food and sleep.  Now, just to battle with the other thousand people who also had the same idea!

If you're looking for a cute cottage to escape to for the weekend I can't recommend Under the Thatch enough (thanks to my sis for the recommendation!).  All have been lovingly, and tastefully, converted - you won't find any chintz here (and if you do, it'll be the right kind of chintzy - vintage darling).

Next time i'd like to try and of these three properties...

Have a wonderful weekend, xxx

Man it is good getting out the city every now and then.  London town that is. This past weekend we headed north to Manchester to hang out with some friends.  Believe it or not Manchester was actually hotter than London, I know, when does that ever happen, ha!

Cue much laughing, dancing, boozing, and approximately 8 hours on the karaoke machine.  And one pimp apartment - check it out.  It's called Chips.  Rad, eh? The outfit shots were taken from the balcony.  Well jel. x

Wear a daffodil this March

Marie Curie...if you've been affected by cancer in your life you'll no doubt have bumped into this amazing charity. Marie Curie nurses provide care to terminally ill patients -  but more than that, they are a much needed lifeline for the carers of those suffering with cancer.

When you can't figure out how to get through the next hour, when you know your world might fall apart any second, and when you've just about given up, the Marie Curie nurses will appear  They are unfathomably positive, helpful and kind.  Exactly what you need.

So last Saturday I joined the hundreds of other Marie Curie volunteers, donned this rather fetching hat and helped to spread the Marie Curie love.  I met so many wonderful people who shared their stories so if you were one of those people, thank you. x

Juggling act

Well that was a longer break than intended.  One day became two and before I knew it a whole two weeks had passed, woops!

Truth is life is a bit of a juggling act at the mo.  Perhaps it's an age thing, but I feel like i'm constantly letting people down, missing things, moaning about not having enough time, always working, never having any fun...and my skin is a shocker.  But in reality, am I working 24/7?  No.  Am I still having fun? Yes. Ok, so I am working more, which leaves less time for socialising/blogging etc.  But it still leaves some time

This article via A Cup of Jo hit the nail on the head...

Next time you think, "I haven't got any time!" try saying, "It's not a priority."  Amazing how that changes things.  Certainly helped me put a few things in perspective :-)

Happy Wednesday folks x

Strike a post

Last week my company surprised everyone with a iPad, AN iPad!  As a thank you.  We work in PR, we're very chatty people, but the room almost fell silent. Gobsmacked.

The Bot of course loves it, he's been wanting one for ages.  I however have taken to taking weird photos of myself in the magic mirrors app.  It's a good reality check.

Happy Wednesday lovelies

Shimmy, shimmy

When the lovely folk at Very sent me this gorgeous beaded dress from their Love Label range I knew i'd have to park it for a special occasion - this ain't your average 'Sat down the pub' outfit :-)

The hen do on Sat was the perfect occasion; a girly night out in London town, slurping prosecco from the dazzling heights of Paramount bar, and dancing the night away in a cheesy club.  Oh, and not forgetting the quarter pounder with cheese, goes without saying, non?

Unfortunately this dress is no longer available online but Very has a fab range of going out dresses, so if you're looking to dress to impress, look no further!

Hope you had a good one folk, let the madness of the mid-week begin! xx

Saturday style

This is a pretty standard weekend outfit for me; ankle grazers, comfy jumper, ballet pumps.  It's simple, perfect for running errands, and requires minimal thought; ideal after a long week at work :-)

Have a fab weekend all.  I'm off to last minute hen do tomorrow - to cut a longish story short one of my bessies decided last week that's she's getting married next Saturday - loving her style!
