Go on, treat yourself

What better way to reward yourself for getting through a WHOLE Monday at work, than with a little pizza delivery.

But Clara, you can't pizza?  Yes, this is true. I developed a mild tolerance to gluten in my twenties but I still occasionally dream of my uni days when ordering a Dominos pepperoni pizza three times a week was deemed totally acceptable.

If you have an intolerance too you'll know how ridiculously behind the UK take-away market is in terms of catering for us "fussy eaters" (I detest the this term...i'm not a fussy eater, these foods make me ILL, grrr). Head to New York and it's no problem.  But here in London take-away pizza was off the menu for me. Until now.  That's right people, Dominos is now offering GLUTEN-FREE pizza bases - the first pizza chain to do so in the UK and Coeliac UK accredited, no less!  YIPPEE!  That's right you foodie freaks, we too can now STUFF OUR FACES with delicious pizza delivered straight to our door in 20 minutes* (*delivery times may vary, clearly the new Dominos pizza in Balham were out to impress :-)).
THE VERDICT
Base: it tasted pretty much like the real deal, somewhere in-between a deep pan and a thin crust (Mr Developer...please, please, please can you develop a thin crust gluten-free pizza.  I will be forever in your debt)
Toppings: excellent pepperoni coverage on the PP.  The veg-o-Roma was a little disappointing but the sun-dried tomato and garlic base sauce was lovely. Hot n Spicy verdict from the Bot, "yeah, yeah, it's good".
Size: Gluten-free bases are currently only available in small and will feed one moderately hungry person well.  But three between two would be ideal :-)
Website: We had a few issues trying to select the gluten-free base and the signposting could be clearer, but once we figured things out ordering was pretty straight-forward

Overall, the gluten-free pizza was pretty good and i'll definitely be returning to Dominos for round two asap.

Dominos...you get the Clazzerati thumps up.  Well done you.
DISCLOSURE: Clazzerati received free pizzas in exchange for this post.  But the views expressed are all mine and I always give an honest review.

The view from our first apartment in St. Lucia, Hotel Chocolat

After a whirlwind few months planning the wedding and honeymoon the Bot and I are back to reality with a very cold thud.  We left a mild London behind for 2 weeks of hedonistic sun in St. Lucia and came back to full on WINTER, brrr!

We're slowly returning to normal life post-wedding. BUT, when i've finally organised myself, i'm going to be showcasing a selection of cheap and affordable wedding DIY tutorials for any forthcoming brides looking to add a personal touch to their wedding, including:

  • Wedding make-up (I found TONS of amazing tips/tricks/products)
  • Monochrome table runners
  • Bunting
  • Table names
  • Seating plan
  • Photobooth backdrop
  • Mui Mui inspired wedding trainers
I'm still waiting for the official photographs, and sorting through all our honeymoon shots, but as soon as they're ready i'll be sharing those too.

Slightly more pressing though is Christmas, cripes we're disorganised this year.  BUT, I did stumble across this fantastic digital craft book for $10 featuring a ton of inexpensive Christmas craft projects - A Hip Handmade Holiday.  I'll be checking this out asap for some last minute gift ideas.

You're my best friend

Five years ago I moved into a random house share and met you.  Our ability to strike the same pose in 9 out of 10 poses is a skill.  Our mutual love of fancy dress has, i'm sure, been part of the reason for our success (that and always going to bed on an argument...you never remember in the morning, right?).  We've done the hard times, the real hard times, and we got through it.  That is why I know that together we can totally kick some life ass.

I am so excited that tomorrow I get to stand by your side and become your wife.  You're my best friend, my soul mate and you drive me INSANE.  But I wouldn't have it any other way.  Actually, that's a lie, less burping/farting would be amazing, but hey, none of us are perfect.

See you at 1.30pm...i'll be the one with the army of bridesmaids x

The oxygen facial

In a rare moment of calm amongst the madness of wedding prep, last night I was treated to an Oxygen facial at Relax spa in Covent Garden.  A gift from two lovely friends it was exactly what I needed with only a week to go to wedding, argh!

In addition to slathering various lotions, potions and serums on your face, oxgyen is blasted over your skin, and a mask is placed over your face so you inhale in pure oxygen.

It was, in a word, totally dreamy.  Now, I don't normally ever post pics sans make-up, so in a rare 'bare-all' moment, this is me last night after the facial. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I will...I can't believe how good my skin looks..this facial is the nuts.

Right, gotta dash, catching the 6.20pm train to Essex for my HEN DO, woop woop!

Muh ha ha!  Planning my Halloween costume early this year, what d'ya think?

Loving my new Dracula eyes thanks to these freaky red contact lenses from the lovely folk at Vision Direct. Can't wait to try them out on the tube next week...

p.s. if you want to give your photos a Halloween-twist check out PicMonkey, a free photo-editing website with loads of spooky tools to freak-up your photos.

Happy Halloween! x

Disclosure: Clazzerati received free contact lenses in exchange for this post, but the review is all mine.  They rock!

Walking on water

The breakdown...
Cross vest: ASOS
Sheer skirt: ASOS
Bra: M&S
Hoops: Claire's

Worn to...show off that i'm on holiday
Shot at...vila Lisetta, near Mijas, Spain
Inspired by...Spanish senoritas

Wow, super-extended break.  But then again in the past month I turned 30, went on hols to Spain where it rained for 4/7 days, spent an amazing weekend in Devon henning it up (a friend's, mine is in a few weeks) and generally deep-dived into my wedding.  Yup, name cards, bunting and flowers are all-consuming right now. And life outside of the wedding is, well, pretty non-existent.  Can't complain, I love it, but it does make for rather awkward blogging (crazy bride, not wanting to share ANY ideas until after the big day)...lots of fodder afterwards mind, but right now my conversation is pretty one-sided.  I've turned into one of those women who thinks everyone wants to hear about my big day. Damn right, it's GONNA ROCK, ha, she hopes, fingers crossed.  The doubt creeps in all too quickly...the nightmares have started (what do you mean I have no dress / I forgot to book the registrar / I slept in).

Oh the joys of planning a wedding.  Seriously though, if you're planning on getting married soon I have spreadsheets coming out of my ass. Makes me feel far more organised than I really am.  Need to get my craft on this weekend.  Pronto.

I'll be back proper soon, but until then I couldn't help sharing this trailer for upcoming film Pitch Perfect.  It's gonna be frickin hilarious. Yes.

La dolce vita

So much going on at the mo but loving every moment.  I hit the big 3-0 tomorrow, i'm off on hols on Sunday and our wedding invites have arrived so it's all hands on deck to get them out before we shoot off.

Here are a few snaps from our engagement shoot the other weekend down in Brighton.  Our wedding photographer is the wonderful Emma of Emmest Photography...she totally put us at ease and had us jumping in the sea, doing Titanic impressions and generally goofing around.  Love!

See you in a couple of weeks xx

p.s. 'scuse the low res pics...my fault, not the photographers, she is ace :-)

Cosas minimas by Bianca Gomez

I've been a big fan of the Spanish illustrator, Blanca G√≥mez, for a while now yet I still haven't got round to actually buying a piece.  Her prints are cute, playful and never fail to make me smile.  I don't think you can ask much more from a bit of wall candy.

You can visit her Esty shop here.

Come fly with me

The breakdown...
Sheer shirt: c/o F&F @ Tesco, £14 (you can buy the shirt here)
Vest: v old New Look (like student-old)
Jeans: BDG, $45
Court shoes: c/o F&F @ Tesco, £18 (you can buy the shoes here)

Worn to...hork
Shot at...home, down the road
Inspired by...mid-West meets vintage chunky midi

Mmmm, what's been happening of late?  I did end up buying those shoes...think i'll save 'em for the big 3-0 next week.  30, shucks, how did THAT one creep up.  Meh, it is just a number, right?  Met my INCREDible wedding florist on Saturday...she totally got my ideas, running around the shop pulling things out of no-where and creating these whimsical centre pieces. Can't WAIT to see the final arrangements.  Ooo also met our wedding photographer...which is how the balloon came about.  She took some test shots of us down on the beach so I took along the balloon.  Couldn't resist taking a few more shots before it totally deflates. Must include props more often.  So that's life of late.  Still attempting to eat healthily and gym-it.  If I were a school report i'd say 'could do better'.

Cardigan: Forever21, £12
Bag: vintage, £10
Sunnies: Tiger Tiger, £2
Flips: Havianas

Worn to...the beach
Shot at...Lulworth Cove, Christchurch and Boscombe beach, Dorset

A few snaps from our mini-break down in Dorset in July, JULY!  This blog is becoming like de ja vu i'm so far behind on posting.  We totally lucked out with the weather, it was scorchio!  And we were lucky enough to have the red arrows fly overhead while we were swimming in the sea, aces!

Life is full of wedding madness but i'm loving it.  We saw our gorgeous rustic barn on Thurs and it was as fab as I remember.  It's weird; i'm an over-sharer by nature.  But one thing I won't be sharing on here are the details of my wedding.  Not until it's over that is...wouldn't want to spoil the surprise now.

Have a fab week y'all x
